Diversity -On March 20, Georgia PTA participated in the first-ever Bullying Prevention Twitter Live Chat. Go to #vetoviolence on Twitter to review the tweets and learn from experts about the importance of bullying prevention, the value of programs, policies, and practices based upon the best available evidence, and resources available to assist parents and schools in their prevention and intervention efforts.
Stand4Change Against Bullying invites schools to stand for 5 minutes on May 4, 2012 at 12pm to literally stand and unite against bullying. See the attached flyer for more info. Imagine millions of students and teachers across the country standing for change. If your school registers, this will count towards your No Place for Hate certification.
Health & Wellness- Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, with a grant from Kohl’s, has the opportunity to share a child- appropriate theatrical experience to discuss making healthy choices re: food and exercise. As part of its Strong 4 Life promotion, they come to your school and perform, tailor the show to each grade level. Your school receives a banner, supplemental support materials, a plaque, ongoing online updates and, later, reusable grocery bags. Also each child/staff member receives a water bottle which contains information for the parents inside, and a pair of shoe laces. More info?
